We are always pleased when clients refer us to organisations they think we can help. And that was the case back in the pre Covid world of early 2020. We were introduced to the Principal of New College Leicester, a large secondary school in the New Parks area of the city that has a story to tell.
The school was once called ‘The worst school in the country’ by the national media…but now…16 years later, the senior leadership team and the staff have transformed the school. It is now rated as ‘Good’ by Ofsted and is an asset to the local community.
We had originally been appointed by New College in March 2020…just days before the first lockdown. Correctly assessing that Covid would have a large impact on schools across the country, it was decided that PR activity would be put on hold…until now.
We are delighted to now be working with the school and its inspiring staff and children. We are looking forward to showcasing the excellence of the school and the valuable outcomes it delivers for children in one of the most economically and socially challenging areas of the East Midlands, if not the country.
For New College, it is important that the school further develops and maintains its reputation so that it continues to be oversubscribed and that the digital presence of the school looks as positive as possible. RedTree will work to ensure that staff and the local community are proud to be part of New College and play a role in helping the school achieve the coveted ‘Ofsted Outstanding’ judgement.
RedTree PR Managing Director Chris Mitchell comments: “Everyone finds information online and creates a view of a person or company based on their online image. Ofsted is no different. When its inspectors are going to visit, they will first form a view of the school via looking at its online presence. We want to make sure that the outstanding achievements of the school are visible online so that Ofsted, prospective parents and potential new members of staff know they will be walking into an ‘Outstanding’ school.
Excellent work is happening at New College and it is a school the community can be proud of. We are looking forward to putting our extensive education PR experience to good use and can’t wait to get started. Having had a global pandemic come between us…it is great to now be working with the New College team. They share our purpose and put people first, so I am proud they are part of RedTree.”
